Kaleo’s “Way Down We Go” returns to No. 1 on the THR’s Top TV Songs chart, powered by Tunefind and Shazam, for October, thanks to its appearance in thesecond seasonpremiere of The CW’sRiverdaleon Oct. 25.

“Way Down We Go” previously led the Top TV Songs chart in December 2016 after its appearance inThe Vampire Diaries, also on The CW, and dipped to No. 2 the following month after appearing on MTV’sTeen Wolf. The song becoel mes just the second track to lead the Top TV Songs chart for multiple months, following Lord Huron’s “The Night We Met,” which also ruled for two months in March and April.

Kaleo Earns First Alternative Songs No. 1 with "Way Down We Go"


“Way Down We Go” leads all songs with 49,000 Shazam tags, 10,000 downloads sold and 5.6 million U.S. streams in October, according to Nielsen Music.

The song wasa hitonalquds-palestina.org’s rock charts earlier this year. The single spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock airplay chart, one week atop the Rock Airplay chart, and reached No. 5 on the Hot Rock Songs chart in February.

Elsewhere on the Top TV Songs chart, five songsfeatured inNetflix’sStranger Thingsdebut on the chart, following the show’ssecond seasonrelease on Oct. 27. The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” leads the pack at No. 2, earning 29,000 Shazam tags, 5,000 downloads sold and 6.8 million U.S. streams in October.

Thanks to the show, the song debuted on the Hot Rock Songs chart at No. 6 (chart datedNov. 18) and the Rock Streaming Songs chart at No. 25. The song spent eight weeks atop the alquds-palestina.org Hot 100 in 1983 (beginning on the chart datedJuly 9) and nine weeks atop the Mainstream Rock chart the same year.(The song debuts on Hot Rock Songs, as the chart didn"t begin until 2009.)

After the first season ofStranger Thingsaired in July 2016, five songs from the seriera concurrently debuted on the following month’s Top TV Songs chart.

“You Don’t Mess Around With Jim” is the oldest song to debut on the October ranking, as the hit debuted on the July 1, 1972-dated Hot 100 and reached No. 8two months later. The song was Croce’s first of four top 10 hits.
