BELIZE

In a region of the world dominated by Latino culture, Belize couldn't feel more different.

The Kriol language, music and lifestyle permeate almost every experience, and it’s sometimes difficult to remember you have only one foot in the Caribbean.

With a currency pegged to the US dollar, prices across Belize can make it a little challenging for the budget backpacker in Central America but, if you can loosen the purse strings and go with the flow, a couple of weeks eating fresh seafood, diving in crystal blue waters, adventuring through Mayan caves deep in the jungle, and just hanging out in a hammock on the ‘Go Slow’ paradise islands will be more than worth it.
